The Lost Thing

The Lost ThingThe Lost Thing by Shaun Tan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Everyone knows that the very best books are made into movies (except for some of them) so it is no surprise that The Lost Thing animated short won an Oscar in 2012.
A gentle story of a boy and the Lost Thing, who can’t communicate with each other using words, and instead rely on gestures, feelings and intuitions.
Wonderful illustrations, and a perfect ‘snippet’ story – that is, where you are dropped into an unfamiliar world, and you must put aside your idea of reality and become immersed in the place to be able to make sense of the story.
